Wendy gave Dethany the entire day off on Monday to go to the closing on her house, which is something Ms. Trellis would never do. I can imagine that Wendy received a few withering glances from Ms. Trellis for this act of humanity, but in the end Wendy held all of the cards. After all, Dethany answers only to Wendy. The only leverage Ms. Trellis has is to fire Wendy, and at this point that’s not going to happen. So, Ms. Trellis fumes...and takes it out on me.
Of course, she can’t fire me from being her son-in-law.
Dethany’s closing went smoothly, and she emerged from the process with the keys to her new home in the funky Little Six Points area of town. She moved in that evening and threw a party for the friends who helped her haul things. I admire her restraint and foresight for not posting any of the pictures of the festivities on her Facebook page.
She reported for work the next day; on time, too. Now she’s a homeowner with all of the responsibilities that entails. I see she’s already asked her Facebook friends for suggestions on what flowers to plant on her meager lawn. I wish her well.
I hope she has all the apliances & heating system checked. If they show signs of needing replacement in the near future its best to know now so she can save up to pay for them. After all it took all her savings for the down payment.
zif so what swank camp would her grandmother send her to.
